How does a Pet Wellness Plan Work?

What is included in a Pet Wellness Plan?

Our Pet Wellness Plans for cats, dogs, ferrets, small mammals, birds, and reptiles in Middlesex include the essentials for your pet to thrive.

Our Plans include annual and 6-month wellness exams, core vaccinations, bloodwork, and heartworm testing. They will also include a fecal exam and a 12-month supply of flea, tick, and heartworm prevention medications.

The Importance of Preventive Care

Wellness exams are a comprehensive health checkup for your pet. They give vets at a hospital or pet wellness center the opportunity to find and treat emerging health issues and check in with your companion's diet to ensure that they're getting enough daily nutrients.

Sometimes, pets may appear healthy, but they may have the early signs of disease or illness lurking in their bodies. Sometimes they have these without any obvious symptoms too. Because of this, we run bloodwork and other diagnostic tests.

Parasites can also be quite deadly for pets of any breed or size if not promptly treated. Prevention provides the best protection against parasite-borne illness and infection as well as health issues caused by the creatures themselves. Because of this, we include year-long supplies of flea, tick and heartworm prevention in every Wellness Plan.

If your pet does become infected, our fecal exams and heartworm tests are designed to catch these life-threatening conditions, which are often undetectable until your pet gets seriously ill.
